Description
Alaska Forest Service Ranger Boat U.S.S. Tahn Bronze Ship's Bell. Bell measures 8'' in diameter and is 8'' tall. Bell wieghs 8.5 lbs. Has attached bracket and a replaced clapper. The U.S.S. Tahn was a 64-foot Ranger Boat constructed by Pacific Yacht & Engine Company for the Forest Service to be used in Alaska. The Tahn was the first Ranger boat and was put into service on May 9, 1909. The Tahn was destroyed by fire in Ketchikan in 1931.
