Duane Pasco (1932-2024 Washington) ''Bella Coola French Chef'' 1971 Cedar Mask 10''x9''x4.5''. Polychrome painted and carved u-form mask with applied abalone eyes. Measuring 16'' in total length with applied hair. Pasco apprenticed under an old world style French pastry chef after serving in the Korean War, of which inspired this mask. Burned in signature on verso. Old gauze crack repairs to verso, likely done by the artist. Overall excellent condition. Purchased Objects of Bright Pride Galleries, Seattle. Collection of Charles and Gayle Pancerzewski of Mukilteo, Washington State.
