Description
Duane Pasco (1932-2024 Washington) ''Sea Totems in the Round'' (SeaTac Airport Commission) 1972 Cedar Totem Pole Suite 8'. Important four-part carved and polychrome painted Tlingit style totem pole suite commissioned by the SeaTac Airport in the early 1970's. The two main totem poles measure 8'x2'x2'10'' and feature shark and octopus motifs with applied halibut finials. The two side connecting poles measure 8'x8''x8'' and depict downward swimming salmon in u-form. Erected in 1973 and deaccessioned in 1998. Overall excellent condition. This commission is discussed in the book ''Life as Art: Duane Pasco'', page 46-47. Collection of Charles and Gayle Pancerzewski of Mukilteo, Washington State. This lot being sold with no reserve.
